Kate was born in Esperance and grew up on her family’s farm, located an hour east of town. She and her family share a number of pets, donkeys, goats, sheep, dogs, cats, chooks and ducks!

Kate’s love of animals led her to join the Swans team in January 2012, and she has since become a qualified Veterinary Nurse.

Kate now lives in Esperance with her husband Brett, sons Hamish and Spencer, their beloved pets Gizmo and Tinker the ginger cats, and their menagerie of chickens and ducks.

Kate took some time off in recent years to raise her boys, helping us out casually from time to time during staff holidays. In April 2026, we were lucky enough to welcome her back one day a week.
